Children's Village

The Children’s Village was founded in 1851, and today, our mission remains very much the same: We work in partnership with families to help society’s most vulnerable children so that they become educationally proficient, economically productive, and socially responsible members of their communities. We believe that there are three keys to a child’s success: education, work, and lifelong relationships. To that end, we are passionate about education and have high expectations for our students. We help youth develop the attitudes and skills needed to enter the workforce successfully. And we believe that one strong adult relationship is a game changer for a child, particularly one in foster care. We help children develop and nurture life-long relationships with family, friends, and mentors. Whether you are a parent, alumnus, prospective employee, donor, or friend, I hope your tour through this website will give you some small inkling of the amazing people whose lives we have had the privilege to touch.

"The maze design represents the complex path that sometimes is associated with adoption and alternative family choices. It is accented by the bold marigold yellow background and plain white lettering which captivates the audience and plainly yet effectively informs them of the foundation's purpose. The clear space which appears after the maze represents the aftermath of this complex path and how the results of a harrowing, long experience such as the adoption process, can end in a happy and bright future for a child and its family."
